Today, 9/10/19, Apple introduced the new iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max models. For the last several years I have been on the Apple Upgrade Program, so I started poking around the Apple Store app on my iPhone XS Max to see if I could get ready for preorders Monday morning. As I got to the payment options while getting preapproved, I wondered if I could use my new Apple Card to get 5%* updated: 3% back on my monthly payments. Well, not quite but I did find the answer:

Can I use Apple Card for my monthly payments?

Yes, you can use Apple Card as your monthly payment method. You’ll get 3% Daily Cash each time you make a payment.

How do I find my Apple Card number?

Open the Wallet app on your iPhone and tap Apple Card. Then tap the more button in the top right corner and choose Card Information. You can then verify your identity using Face ID, Touch ID, or your iPhone passcode.

So you have to manually add your card number and you get 3% instead of 5%* (oops, see below), but I’m glad I checked. You can head to Apple’s website to read all the details about the Apple Upgrade Program and more of the FAQs.

Wanting to make sure you are ready for preorders Friday morning on the Apple Store app? I went into the app, searched for “upgrade program” and followed the instructions to make sure I picked the phone I wanted and am preapproved.

* I apologize, I was thinking of my Amazon Prime Rewards Visa, which gives me 5% back on all Amazon purchases. The Apple Card gives 3%, not 5% back on all purchases.
